Amy #2
24"x18"

Another painting in the "Amy" series - this one is watercolor and graphite. I'm particularly pleased with the red dress! Looking back, red seems to be a favorite color particularly when painting with watercolor and working with pastels. It comes off so beautifully - you just want to keep on going and when done, quickly start on another piece!

  1. You know my feelings about this one!!! Seems the only appropriate language would be French, but I'm not going to trust it to the translator... anyway, beautiful job, and very sensual.

  3. the repetition/echo of the scarlet hues in the hair makes this just ever so clever and a cut above the usual...

  4. Thanks Joel! I had to incorporate them somewhere and the hair was the obvious choice, I guess. I love red and it was hard for me not to go mad and swirl more of it around.....:)

  6. My friend Amy, said she never thought of herself as sensual until she saw the paintings. She is a great model and was a good sport about trying something new!

  7. Yeah! I think red is the most difficult colour to work with but you've used it with a sensitive touch. A very sensuous image, we have a similar taste in subject matter i think ;)

  8. Thanks, David! I love (attempting) to portray sensuality - it really brings additional passion (if I ever needed it) to the process. :)
